Events and Engagement Guide
Travel Crush is more than just matching tiles! If you take a look around the map, you can find friendly Locals who need your help and Wonders to restore. But if you want more to do than traverse through the cities, take a look at the other ways you can engage with activities in the wonderful world of Travel Crush.
Types of Events or Engagement
PvP = Player vs. Player
- If you’re playing with or against another person in a game, that is considered PvP. There are many types of PvP, but they all include other players.
PvE = Player vs. Environment
- This type of game-play doesn’t involve anyone but you. Nothing that you do will affect any other player while they play their game.
Player vs. Player
One of the most challenging features in any game is PvP. Not only is there a set goal (or goals), but you have to race against other players to place on the leaderboards. PvP type content will have the best rewards since it goes to some of the most elite players! Check out the section below to see some of the great things you can win.
Competitive Events
Compete against other players in a tournament-style event where the goal is to get as many points as possible while maintaining a winning streak. Lose one level and all your points are gone! This is one of the most difficult events to win in Travel Crush, which is why it has the best rewards. You can win a T-shirt (worth 1500 VIP Coins) or a personalized portrait of your very own avatar!
Leagues
When you’re just starting, you will be placed in the Stone League, but if you can place in the top 10 at the end of the event you will be promoted up to Bronze League, and so on up to Silver, Gold, and then the Fire League where the #1 player will win a T-shirt and #2 will get the Portrait.
Goal
Collect the tiles or Power-ups needed while you play to get points, then keep a winning streak to accumulate points. You can keep track of your points and where you are on the leaderboard by clicking the Event icon at the top of the map screen. If you feel confident in your points, just confirm them on the leaderboard page in the event. At the end of the event, the top players will be promoted to the next League.
HINT: Even if you have confirmed your points, you can keep playing and you can overwrite your previous submission as long as you have more points than what you already confirmed.
TIP: Since this is a ‘winning streak’ type of event, this is one of the best times to use your Gold to buy extra moves, wheel spins, and Power-ups. Don’t let your points go to waste!
Weekly Tournament
All you need to do to participate in this Tournament is play the game. Well, I guess you DO need to beat levels, but that’s something you’re already doing! You’re crushing it! Each completed level will give you a Trophy, and each Trophy is 1 point in the Tournament.
World
- Compete with all the players in the game and net the best rewards.
Country
- Crush the competition in your country for spectacular prizes.
Friends
- Show your friends who’s the boss and get a small reward.
Didi, the Pickpocketer
Send Didi to steal other players’ Gems and double the Gold won on that level. You can choose an unsuspecting victim or enact revenge on someone who stole from you. The choice is yours!
HINT: Gems are used to shorten timers on Wonder restorations, so keep a supply of Gems since the timers will lengthen as you level up.
Friends
Have you invited your friends to travel through the cities of the world, yet? If you get more friends, then you can get more gifts daily! Be sure to send them gifts back in return. Not only is it neighborly but it also nets you some extra Gold.
You can also invite other players to be your friend in the Social menu at the bottom right of the map screen, then click on the Discover tab. There you will find players from all over the world that you can add as your friends. You can do this every 6 hours.
TIP: Check out all of the communities for Travel Crush on social media and find some more friends there. More information on how to join is at the bottom of this guide 😉
Player vs. Environment
Even though the PvP is what makes Travel Crush so unique, you have to admit that the various PvE components make game-play interesting! If you’re interested in a more enriching experience than just soaring through the levels, check out all of the various ways to engage in each part of Travel Crush.
Events
Just like PvP, PvE has events, but you’re not going to be stressed to compete with other players.
Color Party
Collect the colored tiles indicated in the event to get rewards! There will be a bar at the top of the map screen indicating your current progress towards a prize. When that bar is filled up, you win the prize and another bar will appear with a different prize! The more points needed to fill up the bar, the better the reward, so get crushing!
Passport (Stories)
You can find your Passport at the bottom of the map screen. Inside it is some information about your game-play, as well as your progress through the cities and special events. Open each section by tapping on the tabs at the bottom.
Your Stats
- Here you can check out your progress through Travel Crush with your cities visited, badges, your longest winning streak, and more!
Cities
- This tab showcases each city (flip up and down to see each city). Earn all 3 common stamps for each city to get VIP Coins!
Your Events!
- Participate in the PvE events and you can collect stars and frames. If you participate in an event 10 times, you will get some nifty prizes!
Weekend Tour
Replay certain levels to get letters to complete the word of the day. Win them in a streak to earn prizes! This is a great way to learn more about the most interesting spots in the world while playing Travel Crush.
Engagement Activities
You can do lots of various activities at your leisure without the stress of event timers or competing with other players. These tasks will enrich your game-playing experience as well as give you a deeper knowledge of the world around you.
Restore the Wonders
When you travel through each city, you will visit many different Wonders. Restore these Wonders using Bronze, Silver, and Gold stars to unlock their beauty and earn VIP points. You can use VIP points to cash in on gifts in the VIP Shop.
Bronze
- Complete each level for the first time to earn a Bronze Star.
Classic mode, easiest difficulty.
Silver
- Repeat a level once to earn a Silver Star.
Hard mode, 2x score.
Gold
- Beat a level for the third and final time to earn a Gold Star.
Super Hard mode, 3x score.
HINT: Complete each level in a city on Classic, Hard, and Super Hard mode to earn an Epic Stamp in your Passport as well as 10 VIP Coins.
TIP: Save Gems for restoring Wonders on later levels since they have longer timers.
Detour With the Locals
Local, friendly people will come to ask you for help and to teach you some amazing things about the city you’re in. Drop the Souvenirs to beat those levels.
Most, but not all levels that end in 5 will have a Local after you beat it.
These are the familiar faces you will see in each city:
Pepper, the Chef
Coach, the Athlete
Fauna, the Naturalist
Haute, the Fashionista
Pepsi, the Pop Star
Henri, the Artiste
Alongside the regular Locals, you could even come across a few local “celebrities” in each city. Like Napoleon, the Historian in the city of Paris, and Scarlett Johansson, Movie Star in the city of New York.
Daily Activities
To make the most out of your time spent in Travel Crush, you should do more than just soar through the levels. Although there is absolutely nothing wrong with playing however you like, some of these extra goodies will come in handy if you find yourself stuck on a difficult level!
Daily Trivia
Answer a question each day to get Gems, but answer it correctly and the Gems will be increased 2x! Now, if you can answer correctly for 5 days in a row, you will get a mystery gift.
HINT: If you’re unsure about an answer for the trivia question, remember that Google is your friend 😉
Tripstagram
Discover the wonders of the world through the Tripstagram posts! Like and Share 5 posts every 8 hours to get a free Bolt and Hammer.
TIP: You can see new Tripstagram content every time you get to a Detour With the Locals or Wonder level.
Ambition
If you’ve been skipping out on Wonder restoration, try and make it a personal goal to replay some levels to get Silver and Gold stars to restore at least one Wonder per week.
TIP: Replaying older levels when you’re stuck on a difficult level can help you build up the resources you need to get past the block. For example, Gold for extra moves or even boosters.
Events Galore!
You don’t need a special event to spend some time crushing tiles. This game is a good way to challenge yourself while you have some time to spare. It’s easy to see what’s going on in the game and the events will only serve to enhance your game-playing experience.
