Guide to Barcelona
We’ve traveled through Moscow and now we are off to another destination: Barcelona! Just like the levels in Travel Crush, Barcelona is full of sand! The sun will always shine down on you as you travel through the City of Beauty. Home to the world’s most famous beaches, there are plenty of opportunities to build a sandcastle!
Barcelona, Founded by HERCULES?!
One of the stories about Barcelona, Spain is that Hercules founded the city 400 years before Rome was built. It must have been a great place to attract the attention of a demi-god! Still, it holds its beauty with all of the beaches, parks, and historical sites located all throughout the city.
Did You Know?
- There are 68 parks in Barcelona which make up more than 10% of the city!
- 5 of Barcelona’s famous beaches didn’t exist until they were created for the 1992 Summer Olympics.
- There is a traffic accident every 19 seconds in the city. As a result, many choose to walk!
- Barcelona has two official languages: Catalan and Spanish!
Swimming through Barcelona
The levels become a bit more challenging with the release of the newest Blocker: Sand! You will have to dig through the board and remove the Sand before it takes over. However, many of the levels are going to be easy enough to get through as long as you quickly glance over the board to see where you need to focus your attention.
- TIP: Pay attention to the Goals for each level so you’re not putting too much focus in the wrong place.
Sand and other Obstacles are featured in the Blockers of Travel Crush Part 1, check it out and learn more tips about how to remove these annoyances from each level.

Wonders of Moscow
When you reach any 10th level, you will visit one of the Wonders of Barcelona. The objective in these levels is to free the Souvenirs by dropping them down to the bottom of the board. Clear the path for the Souvenirs by crushing tiles and removing Obstacles and they will drop off the board.
- TIP: Keep a watch out for Portals, as they will make a maze for you to get through the board.
These are the Wonders of Barcelona:
La Barceloneta
- Once a home for fishermen, La Barceloneta is now a popular tourist destination with beautiful beaches and a view of the Mediterranean Sea.
La Boqueria
- The most famous worldwide market in Barcelona, La Boqueria offers a plethora of food whether you are shopping for groceries or wanting to eat gourmet suppers.
Gothic Quarter
- If you’re interested in the visual history of Barcelona, the Gothic Quarter has all you could ever want. Artifacts from its past in the Roman empire to the Spanish Civil war are situated among the shops and restaurants located here.
Placa de Catalunya
- The starting place of many tourist routes, Placa de Catalunya is the heart of Barcelona. The wide-open space is surrounded by beautiful architecture and plenty of opportunities for shopping and eating can be found nearby.
El Poblenou
- Once an industrial district, El Poblenou has been transformed into a modern place for leisure and residential buildings. Old buildings and factories have been renovated into galleries, lofts, and art galleries. There’s something for everyone!
Jardins de les 3 Xemeneies
- These gardens are named after the 3 chimneys of the La Canadenca power plant. Jardins de les 3 Xemeneies is a place where locals rest and play. You can find beautiful graffiti and visit a bike park if you’re so inclined.
Casa Mila
- The last work of Gaudi, Casa Mila is also known as La Pedrera since it looks like a stone quarry. It was named as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1984.
Flavors of Barcelona
- You will not be able to miss all the gorgeous sites in Barcelona. Due to its rich history, just walking through the streets will grant you the opportunity to see the true beauty of the city. Check out the Flavors of Barcelona Tripstagram page to see more!
Camp Nou
- Previously named ‘Estadi del FC Barcelona’, Camp Nou (the New Ground) was voted to become the new name of the biggest stadium in Europe. It’s so big, it holds a Chapel, several television studios, and even a museum!
La Sagrada Familia
- Another UNESCO World Heritage Site, La Sagrada Familia was also designed by Gaudi and to this day remains an uncompleted project. Construction started in 1882 and by the time of Gaudi’s death in 1926 only ¼ of the site was finished.
- There is hope that this basilica will be completed soon, although the Covid-19 pandemic has halted its progress for now.
- TIP: Don’t forget to interact with Tripstagram content for a free Bolt and Hammer! You can collect these Power-ups once every 8 hours!
Obstacles in the City of Barcelona
Known for the beaches, the city of Barcelona comes with a lot of Sand, which is the only new Obstacle introduced in these levels. However, it will be the most annoying to deal with since it produces more Sand with every move that doesn’t remove any of it. Just like going home from the beach, the Sand is everywhere, and getting rid of it won’t be as simple as it seems. See more Obstacles in the Blockers in Travel Crush guide.
Sand
If you don’t remove any Sand with a move, watch out, because it will produce more Sand! Sand will prevent you from using the tiles covered from making a match or crafting a Power-up. Remove sand by matching nearby or hitting it with a Power-up.
Sand Facts:
Sand will not move past Obstacles or gaps in the board and won’t cover up Power-ups. Use this to your advantage to keep Sand at bay. However, Sand will fill up empty spaces so remove it ASAP!
- TIP: Keep Sand behind Obstacles until you’re ready to deal with it so it won’t take over the board.
Author’s Section
Here are some levels that I found particularly tricky or enjoyed how delightful they are. I also note some of the easier levels to use for certain events like Power-up and Color Collections!
Level 406
Don’t get distracted by the sand since you don’t need to clear it all to beat this level! Focus on the Balloons and you will be sailing to your next destination in no time.
Level 431
This took me a while to complete. After wasting quite a few lives, I ended up using the Super Boost at the end and a Hammer to clear the Grass at the top-left corner.
Level 428
Craft as many Power-ups as you can to beat this level. Rockets will clear the Ivy across the board and Bombs can be used to bust through the Crates.
- TIP: Use this level to get points towards Power-up Collection events. There are only three colors, so Power-ups are easy to craft!
Level 466
The only way that I could beat this was by mixing a Bolt and a Bomb at the last minute. Then, I just needed the last few moves to pick up the extra bees and it was done! This level took me quite a few tries.
Level 474
Removing the Octopus will be easier if you use Power-ups instead of trying to match the color tiles to them. This level is great for Power-up and Color Collection events, both because of the low number of different tiles and the high points requirement. After the Obstacles are removed, use the whole board to craft Power-ups or Bolts to match with colored tiles.

Adios, Barcelona!
It’s time to pack up your bags and leave the lovely beaches of Barcelona. Even though the sun and sand feel so warm, we have to move on to Beijing, the capital of China. What did you like most about Barcelona? Hopefully, the Sand wasn’t too tricky for you! Make sure you check out some of the Tripstagram content and restore a few Wonders before you leave.
